THE POWER OF EVERY STYLIST
Each stylist is goaled with raising $200 in Cash Donations
You may choose to donate to Charity: Water or one of our 5 amazing local partners. Together, we can make a huge difference. $10 a day will get you to your goal!
WHY CHARITY: WATER
1 IN 10 PEOPLE DRINK DIRTY WATER
It's life's basic need and 771 million people in the world live without it. That’s nearly 1 in 10 people worldwide. Or, twice the population of the United States.
100% FUNDS CLEAN WATER
100% of donations to Aveda's campaigns go to direct water project costs since private donors cover our operating costs.
THEY PROVE EVERY PROJECT
Charity Water tracks every dollar the Aveda Network raises, showing us the water projects we helped fund and the lives we’ve changed.
CLEAN WATER CHANGES EVERYTHING
-
Clean water helps keep kids in school, especially girls. Less time collecting water means more time in class. Clean water and proper toilets at school means teenage girls don’t have to stay home for a week out of every month.
-
Women are responsible for 72% of the water collected in Sub-Saharan Africa. When a community gets water, women and girls get their lives back. They start businesses, improve their homes, and take charge of their own futures.
-
Diseases from dirty water kill more people every year than all forms of violence, including war. Forty-Three percent of those deaths are children under five years old. Access to clean water and basic sanitation can save around 16,000 lives every week.
-
Each day, women in Sub-Saharan Africa spend a total of 16 million hours collecting water. Access to clean water gives communities more time to grow food, earn an income, and go to school -- all of which fight poverty.
Local Partners
You can help make a difference in your own backyard by donating to our 5 local partners, Healthy Gulf, IJAMS, San Marcos River Foundation, Louisiana Environmental Action Network, & Protect Our Aquifers. Collect donations through your POS during the Earth Month period and donate to one of our local partners or to charity: water.
Healthy Gulf’s purpose is to collaborate with and serve communities who love the Gulf of Mexico by providing the research, communications, and coalition-building tools needed to reverse the long pattern of over exploitation of the Gulf’s natural resources.
The Louisiana Environmental Action Network (LEAN) is a community based not-for-profit organization that has been working since 1986 to resolve the unique environmental struggles present in Louisiana. Through education, empowerment, advocacy, and support; LEAN provides the necessary tools and services to individuals and communities facing environmental problems. Such problems that often threaten their health, safety and quality of life.
Ijams Nature Center is a nonprofit environmental education center in Knoxville, TN that relies on member and donor support. Funding helps maintain the more than 318 acres of protected land managed by the nature center as well as allows Ijams to offer low-cost education programs so that more people can take part in them.
Formed out of necessity in 2017, Ward Archer founded the organization thinking it would be a short-lived legal fight. It soon became apparent there is no entity working to protect the source of drinking water for Shelby County, Tennessee and much of the Mid-South. Protect Our Aquifer is a501(c)(3) nonprofit with a force of citizen advocates challenging threats to the Aquifer. In four years, POA has become a leading voice in the science-based protection of the Aquifer and the people that depend on it.
San Marcos River Foundation was established in 1985 to protect public access and preserve the San Marcos River, focusing on protecting the flow from aquifer-fed springs, improving the water quality and protecting the beauty of the area with parks and regular clean-ups.
